| 1962 the band called "the Rollin' Stones" played for the first time. They didn't have a lot to do with Rock'n Roll. They were more a rythm & blues band ( who thought that )At this time the band was formet of Jagger, Richard, Jones, Dick, Taylor, Stewart and Avory (later he was the drummer of the Kinks )In Oktober of the same year they produced three songs and gave the demos to the studios, wich weren't interest..In the end of 1962 Wyman joined the band and in January 1963 Watts. the first instrumentation of the Rollin' Stones wa complete. In the same month they made five further demos. In May 1963 the signed a three-years-contract with Decca-Records and one day later they recorded the Chuck Berry Song "Come on ". Decca Records called this song "awful" but it was in the middle of the same year in the Charts. Some other records followed and in April 1964 their first LP.One this LP you could hear Brian Jones still. Brian left the band against some musical differences before his death .He drowned in his swimming pool.1969 there was the Altemont Concert where a visitor was killed by a member of the Hells Angel.1986 the Stones got a Grammy.1989 the band was taken in of the Rock'n Roll of Fame. In the beginning of 1993 Wyman left the band. the Stones knew it how to bring in other music styles which didn't have alot to do with Rock'n Roll into their music.1994 a new album appeared "Voodoo Lounge". 13 years after they were on top of the Charts they got back their old position. In August 1994 they started their world tour which went on 'til 1995. In autumn 1997 a new album called "bridge to Babylon" appeared and a new tour started. I admire the older sprightly men, about the energy they have !!!!! |
