| Illuminata was born in september
2006 in the beautiful Austrian city Graz. It's two founders, Lukas and
Dave, first invited the guitarist of their last band to join the new
project. The idea behind Illuminata was to do a kind of Rock-Opera, supported by two powerful female voices, so they were searching for the singers for a long, long time. During the continual coming and going of various singers and keyboarders, Illuminata was writing their first arrangements, and the first Demo "Lachrymal" was recorded in March 2007 until the band was completed in June 2007. At this time the band had 6 members: Luki, Dave, Tom, Katarzyna, Sabrina and Joanna. A few weeks later they went to the studio to start the recordings for their first album "From The Chalice of Dreams", which was released in January 2008. During this time, the guitarist Tom had to give up the band because of personal reasons, so Luki took on playing guitar, and Christoph, a ex-classmate of him, joined the band to play the bass. However the creative process never stood still and right after the album-release the band was already working on new material. Three of the resulting tracks will be released in December 2008 on the Single “A Frame Of Beauty”. Unfortunately their singer Joanna did not longer regard it as possible to be a part of the project, neither as a singer nor on friendly basis. Lyrical Soprano Lisa Tomantschger will replace her on the upcoming works and releases. Today, behind the bandname Illuminata stand six completely diverse personalities, who aim at producing Metal which is authentic and at the same time conveys feelings and emotions, which formed them, through music, lyrics and vocals. Main characteristics are the expressive singing by their two female vocalists, the melodic, intricate keyboard parts and guitar riffs, which are again accentuated by accurate drums and ambitious basslines.
