The Bay City Rollers were one of the most successful teenage group of  the 70's . They sold over 100 million records. These lads of Scotland  brought the femininity in ecstase. The girls all over the world got hysteric and many fell into a faint at the sight of these 5 Scots. The beginning of their career was under the name "The saxons", at this  time  with Nobby Clarke and John Denvine , which  changed into "The Bay City Rollers" .1972 and 1973 the members also changed then   . Nobby and John left the group and were replaced by  Eric Faulkner, Les McKeown and Stuart Wood .The career which  came  demanded their tribute of these five young Scots. Headlines of alcohol, drugs and other things dissolved the image from these five sweet lads  at the end of  70's into the 80's , which had been carefully developed .   1981 the Bay City Rollers disbanded.. But for their fans the Bay City Rollers  and their music will be always present. Also I was a Rollers fan and love their music  till  today .

1967 the brothers Alan and Derek Longmuir formed "the saxons" in Edinburgh. Tam Paton was  Bandleader in "Edinburgh palais"at this time. He heard the teenies play and knew that in them the more put. He let fall his  job and started to be the manager . The name "Bay City Rollers " was found in  putting a needle blindly into a map  and Bay City town /Michigan met.   Till 1971 the members  very often changed. Then there was the records contract and the producer Jonathan King started a new release  of the  Gentrys hit "Keep on dancing"(1965). The title became a Top 10 hit in GB. Then  Eric Faulkner joined . "Manana" was published and becames the first success in Germany.   But first after Stuart Wood and Leslie McKeown joined 1973 to them.  The Rollersmania began!!!! In the meantime the guys took as stage clothes in Tartanlook on stage which were taken over by the fans very fast.  The years 1975 brought hit on hit then  Alan Longmuir left the band and Ian Mitchell  joined . Stuart Wood played the bass. In this time  the first split came at the teenage  image of the band. Ian remained not for a long time with the band..He left the band again 1977 and formed a new band..  Pat  McGlynn joined, , remained also  not for a very long time.   1978  the split for the band came..   Over the time  by the Bay City Rollers ?  Les McKeown went and tried a solo career . Duncan Faure joined . The other members played  in GB and the USA at meetings and in clubs.       1989 appeared  the CD "Collection memorial"in Japan Billy Lyall who played in the first years formed  the band "pilot"1973. He died 1989 .
